Girl at the End of the World

So a quick update... I've not done much writing this month, but I have managed another 10k words. There's been a lot on, my daughter had her year 6 SATS (for my US readers these are tests done age 10/11)...yes those ones, the ones that have been in the news and all over Facebook! I had to have a cyst removed from my neck, and our lovely cat Willow got run over and killed, but there have been positives as well...

My son has had two growing up firsts, his first residential school trip away from home (he loved it) and also his first concert! He went to see this iconic band 'James' in Bristol for their 'Girl At The End of the World #GetTheGirl tour with his daddy (they both loved it!)

If you haven't listened to this album yet, you should. I'm loving James at the moment and this track is particularity pertinent to my writing as well! (say no more!)

A New Year, A New Series!

Okay so we might be a quarter of the way into the year already, but it is a new tax year! I have taken the past three months away from writing to give myself a breather and concentrate on the house and family, and now I feel ready to start something new. It is hard leaving Jess, Daniel and the gang behind... now I have to make a new fictional family; one that you will hopefully love just as much!

Enter eighteen year old twins Bea and Will, their mum, stepfather and little sister Lucy! I'm not giving much away just yet, as it's early days, but I will say this... I am trying something new (for me!) I am writing alternate chapters in first person from Bea's POV and 3rd person from Will's. The working title at the moment is 'Smoke' and it will be set in the near future, with no vampires (sorry!).

I will try and keep the blog updated every week, so check back for more updates! Here's how I envision Bea & Will...

Happy New Year!

So I hope everyone is feeling refreshed and ready for another year? LOL I am sooo tired this morning, school run felt like torture!

I haven't made any NY Resolutions this year, although I want to have more fun and actually keep a journal for longer than a month! I have started an art journal this year, so I'll see how long I keep it going!

I also like these challenges:

Have you set yourself any challenges or resolutions for 2016? It is of course an exciting week for me as I will be publishing WitchWar, the last book in the WitchBlood series, on Friday. It seems serendipitous that it will coincide with my blog, which I started at the same time as publishing the first book, is going to pass 100,000 hits! Maybe I should set a giveaway up...
